Mallorcan

Mallorcan is an English term that can refer to anything related to Mallorca, the largest island of the Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean, which is part of Spain. The word can describe the island’s culture, geography, or language, and is also used as a demonym for its inhabitants, who are typically called Mallorquins in Catalan and Mallorcans in English.

Language: Mallorquín, or Mallorquí in Catalan, is the variety of the Catalan language spoken on Mallorca. It is part of the Catalan linguistic continuum and shares core grammar with other Catalan varieties, but it has distinctive pronunciation, vocabulary, and expressions. In the Balearic Islands, Catalan is co-official with Spanish, and Mallorquí is used in education, media, and public life alongside standard Catalan and Spanish.
