Maiduguris

Maiduguris are residents of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State in northeastern Nigeria. The city sits on the northern edge of the Lake Chad basin and has long served as a commercial and administrative center in the region. As a demonym, Maiduguri refers to both people and things associated with the city.

The population is ethnically diverse, with Kanuri communities forming a large segment alongside Shuwa Arab, Bura, Marghi, Hausa and other groups. The predominant religion is Islam, with Christian and other minority communities present in smaller numbers.
