Magneticgyro refers to a device that utilizes magnetic fields to measure or maintain orientation and angular velocity. Unlike traditional mechanical gyroscopes which rely on spinning rotors, magneticgyros operate based on principles of electromagnetism. These devices can range from simple compasses that detect the Earth's magnetic field to more sophisticated inertial navigation systems.

The core concept often involves sensing changes in magnetic flux. For example, some magneticgyros use Hall effect sensors or magnetoresistive sensors. As the device rotates, the direction and strength of the magnetic field detected by these sensors change, allowing for the calculation of angular displacement or velocity. Advantages of magneticgyros include their lack of moving parts, which can lead to greater reliability, lower power consumption, and resistance to shock and vibration. However, their accuracy can be affected by external magnetic interference, such as nearby electrical equipment or ferrous materials. Calibration and compensation techniques are often employed to mitigate these effects.
