Maastosta
Maastosta is the elative form of the Finnish noun maasto, meaning terrain, field, or landscape. It translates as “from the terrain” or “from the field” and is used to indicate origin, source, or basis for something. The term is common in field-related contexts such as environmental science, geology, forestry, archaeology, journalism during field reporting, and military training, as well as in everyday speech when referring to actions performed or data obtained in the field.
In Finnish grammar, maasto takes the elative suffix -sta/-stä to express origin or source, producing maastosta.
