MR11s

MR11s, also known as MR-11s, are a series of Soviet-made 11.43 mm (0.45 in) anti-tank rifles. They were developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s as a response to the increasing threat of armored vehicles. The MR11s were designed to be a lightweight, portable weapon capable of penetrating the armor of enemy tanks and armored personnel carriers.

The MR11s series includes several models, each with slight variations in design and performance. The most notable models are the MR-113, MR-113M, and MR-113M1. The MR-113 was the original model, introduced in 1960. It featured a fixed sight and a 10-round magazine. The MR-113M, introduced in 1963, had a telescopic sight and a 10-round magazine. The MR-113M1, introduced in 1965, had a telescopic sight and a 10-round magazine, but with improved reliability and accuracy.

The MR11s were widely used by Soviet and Warsaw Pact forces during the Cold War. They saw limited combat use during the Soviet-Afghan War, where they were used against enemy tanks and armored vehicles. The MR11s were also exported to several countries, including Egypt, Syria, and North Korea.

The MR11s were gradually replaced by more modern anti-tank weapons in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Despite their age, the MR11s remain in service with some military forces, particularly in countries where they were exported. They are valued for their simplicity, reliability, and effectiveness against lightly armored targets.
