Mõõtmisõnnus

Environmental factors like temperature, pressure, and humidity can also influence measurements. Furthermore, the skill and judgment of the person performing the measurement, known as observer effects, contribute to uncertainty. Even the properties of the object being measured can introduce variability.

Expressing measurement uncertainty is crucial for understanding the reliability and validity of a measurement. It is typically presented as a range around the measured value, often with a confidence level. For example, a measurement might be reported as 10.5 ± 0.2 units, with a 95% confidence level, meaning that the true value is likely to lie between 10.3 and 10.7 units 95% of the time.

Understanding and quantifying mõõtmisõnnus is fundamental in scientific research, engineering, quality control, and many other fields where accurate and reliable data are essential. It allows for informed decisions to be made, ensuring that results are interpreted correctly and that appropriate tolerances are established.
