Lähdekritiikki, or source criticism, is a systematic method used to evaluate the reliability, validity, and authenticity of information sources. It is a fundamental skill in academic research, journalism, and everyday information consumption, aiming to discern credible information from misinformation or biased content.

The process involves several key considerations. Firstly, the origin of the source is examined: who created it, what are their qualifications or potential biases, and what is their purpose in producing the information?
