Látószöge

Látószöge refers to the extent of the observable world that can be seen at any given moment by an individual's eye. It is an angular measurement, typically expressed in degrees, that describes the field of vision. This field is not uniform; it is widest horizontally and narrower vertically. The primary reason for this is the shape of the eye and the arrangement of the optic nerve.

There are two main types of látószöge: monocular and binocular. Monocular látószöge is the field of vision of a single eye. Binocular látószöge is the combined field of vision when both eyes are open and focused on the same point. This binocular field is larger and provides depth perception due to the slight overlap in the visual fields of each eye. The area where the vision from both eyes overlaps is crucial for stereoscopic vision, allowing us to judge distances and perceive the three-dimensional world.

Factors such as the health of the eyes, age, and certain medical conditions can affect an individual's látószöge. For example, glaucoma can lead to a loss of peripheral vision, effectively narrowing the látószöge. In photography and optics, the term "field of view" is often used synonymously. Understanding látószöge is important in fields ranging from visual art and cinematography to aviation and automotive design, where maximizing or controlling the visible area is often a key consideration.
