Lágyvasmag

Lágyvasmag is a Hungarian term referring to soft iron core. It is a type of ferromagnetic material characterized by its low coercivity, meaning it is easily magnetized and demagnetized. This property makes it ideal for applications where the magnetic field needs to change rapidly or be switched on and off frequently.

The primary use of lágyvasmag is in the construction of electrical components such as transformers, electromagnets, and inductors. In a transformer, lágyvasmag is used as the core to efficiently channel the magnetic flux between the primary and secondary coils, enabling voltage transformation with minimal energy loss. For electromagnets, its soft magnetic properties allow for strong magnetic fields to be generated when current flows through a coil wound around it, and for the field to disappear almost completely when the current is interrupted. In inductors, the lágyvasmag core increases the inductance of the coil, which is crucial for filtering and energy storage in electronic circuits.

Compared to hard magnetic materials, which retain their magnetism after the external magnetic field is removed, lágyvasmag exhibits significantly lower hysteresis loss. This means less energy is wasted as heat during each magnetization and demagnetization cycle. Common materials used for lágyvasmag include pure iron, silicon steel alloys, and certain types of ferrite. The specific composition and processing of these materials are optimized to achieve the desired magnetic characteristics for different applications.
