Lyspartiklene

Lyspartiklene is a term used in some contexts to refer to photons, the fundamental particles of light and all other forms of electromagnetic radiation. Photons are quanta of the electromagnetic field and can be described as both particles and waves. They have no mass and travel at the speed of light in a vacuum. The energy of a photon is directly proportional to its frequency, a relationship described by Planck's equation: E = hf, where E is energy, h is Planck's constant, and f is frequency.

The concept of light as consisting of particles originated with Albert Einstein's explanation of the photoelectric effect in 1905. In this phenomenon, light incident on a metal surface can eject electrons, and the energy of the ejected electrons depends on the frequency of the light, not its intensity. This suggested that light energy is delivered in discrete packets, or quanta, which were later named photons.
