Lumerians

Lumerians are a term used in esoteric, speculative, and fictional contexts to refer to inhabitants of a legendary lost civilization associated with the mythical continent Lemuria. The spelling varies, and in some sources the term is used interchangeably with Lemurians.

The concept originated in 19th-century debates about Lemuria, a hypothetical sunken land proposed to account for similarities between lands and species in the Indian and Pacific Ocean basins. In occult and New Age literature, Lumerians are described as an advanced population—physically or spiritually sophisticated—often imagined as ancestors of humanity or as beings who guided early civilizations.
