Luftskygger

Luftskygger, a term originating from German, translates to "air shadows" or "sky shadows." It refers to areas of reduced illumination or perceived darkness that appear on the ground or on surfaces due to the presence of an object obstructing sunlight. These shadows are a common phenomenon and are a direct consequence of the directional nature of light. The size and shape of a luftskygge are determined by the size, shape, and distance of the obstructing object, as well as the angle of the sun.
