Loona

Loona, stylized LOONA or LOOΠΔ, is a South Korean girl group formed by Blockberry Creative. The group is notable for a distinctive pre-debut project in which each member was introduced through solo releases and for later organizing the members into subunits before their full-group debut.

The pre-debut phase included the subunits LOONA 1/3, Odd Eye Circle, and yyxy, each releasing music between 2016 and 2018. In 2018, the group debuted as a twelve-member ensemble and released their first mini-album, Go. The twelve members are HeeJin, HyunJin, HaSeul, Vivi, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Choerry, Yves, Chuu, Gowon, Olivia Hye, and Yeojin.

Loona gained international attention for its elaborate concept, production, and international lineup, which contributed to a broad global fanbase. The group has produced music across multiple EPs and singles, and has periodically coordinated activities that highlight both the subunits and the full group.

Known for an experimental approach to K-pop, Loona blends synth-pop, R&B, and pop with high-concept visuals and storytelling. The pre-debut releases and the unit-based structure have influenced how other acts approach concept-driven promotions. The group’s supporters are collectively referred to as Orbit.
