Lochbilder

Lochbilder is a term in the visual arts describing imagery centered on lochs, the freshwater lakes characteristic of Scotland and other regions. It covers still photography, film, and installations that explore water, light, and landscape.

The term combines Loch (lake) with Bilder (pictures) from German, used in art criticism to classify works that foreground lochs as primary subject.
