Lisätalousarvioesitys

Lisätalousarvioesitys, often translated as a supplementary budget proposal, is a financial document submitted by the Finnish government to Parliament. It is presented when the initial, approved state budget needs to be amended during the fiscal year. This typically occurs due to unforeseen economic developments, significant changes in revenue or expenditure, or the need to allocate funds for new or urgent purposes.

The process begins with the government preparing the supplementary budget proposal, outlining the proposed changes to the original budget. This document details the reasons for the proposed amendments, specifying any increases or decreases in revenue and expenditure across various government sectors. It also provides justifications for these adjustments, often referencing economic forecasts, international events, or domestic policy shifts.

Once prepared, the lisätalousarvioesitys is submitted to the Finnish Parliament (Eduskunta).
