Lineaarselt

Lineaarselt is a term used in some technical discussions to denote a property of transformations or models that preserves linear relationships to a specified degree of accuracy. The term is not widely standardized and can vary in meaning across disciplines, but it typically refers to approximate or relaxed linearity.

Formally, a transformation T defined on a vector space is said to be lineaarselt of tolerance epsilon if, for all x and y in its domain and all scalars alpha in [0,1], the deviation between T(alpha x + (1-alpha) y) and alpha T(x) + (1-alpha) T(y) is bounded by epsilon: |T(alpha x + (1-alpha) y) - (alpha T(x) + (1-alpha) T(y))| <= epsilon. When epsilon equals zero, the condition reduces to affine linearity.
