Lichtkeils, also known as light wedges, are optical components designed to split a beam of light into two separate beams. They are typically made of a transparent material, such as glass or plastic, and are shaped like a wedge. The angle of the wedge determines the separation angle between the two outgoing beams. When a light beam enters a Lichtkeil, it undergoes refraction at both surfaces.
