Lichtenwald

Lichtenwald is a municipality located in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated approximately 20 kilometers southeast of Stuttgart. The municipality was formed on January 1, 1975, through the merger of the formerly independent municipalities of Aich and Honhardt.

The area of Lichtenwald has a history dating back centuries, with evidence of settlement in prehistoric times. The villages that now form Lichtenwald developed independently over the Middle Ages, with agricultural activities forming the backbone of their economies. The modern administrative structure brought these communities together to create the present-day municipality.
