Leño

Leño is a Spanish noun meaning a log or piece of wood used for fuel or construction. In forestry and rural contexts, leño refers to a cut length of timber, typically larger than kindling and suitable for burning in a fireplace or stove.

Leño is also the name of a Spanish rock band formed in Madrid in 1979. The group

was
led
by
guitarist
and
singer
Rosendo
Mercado
and
is
regarded
as
an
influential
precursor
in
the
Spanish
rock
movement
of
the
late
1970s
and
early
1980s.
Leño
released
a
self-titled
debut
album
Leño
in
1979
and
followed
with
Más
Leño
in
1980.
The
band
dissolved
in
1983,
after
which
Rosendo
Mercado
pursued
a
solo
career
and
helped
shape
Spanish
rock
through
his
later
work.
