Level1Prädiktors, also known as Level 1 predictors, are variables that are measured at the lowest level of a hierarchical structure, such as within a classroom or a group. In multilevel modeling, these predictors represent characteristics of individuals or units that are nested within larger groups. For instance, in a study examining student academic performance, individual student characteristics like prior grades, study habits, or motivation would be considered Level 1 predictors. These are distinct from Level 2 predictors, which describe the characteristics of the larger group, such as the school's resources or the teacher's experience.

The inclusion of Level 1 predictors allows researchers to account for variation in the outcome variable that occurs within the higher-level units. By analyzing these individual-level factors, researchers can gain a more nuanced understanding of the phenomenon being studied. For example, while school-level factors might explain some differences in student achievement, individual differences in how students approach learning (Level 1 predictors) can also play a significant role. Statistical models that incorporate both Level 1 and Level 2 predictors are essential for accurately estimating the effects of each level and for understanding how they interact. Analyzing Level 1 predictors helps to avoid ecological fallacy, which is the erroneous assumption that trends observed for groups necessarily apply to individuals within those groups.
