Leuchtdichte
Leuchtdichte is a photometric measure of the luminous intensity per unit area of light travelling in any particular direction. It quantifies the brightness of a surface as perceived by the human eye. The SI unit for leuchtdichte is candela per square meter (cd/m²). In practice, it describes how much light is emitted from or reflected by a surface, and it is independent of the distance from which the surface is viewed. For example, a screen might have a high leuchtdichte, meaning it appears bright, while a matte surface will have a lower leuchtdichte. It is a crucial parameter in display technology, lighting design, and photography, influencing how images are perceived and how well they can be seen under various lighting conditions. Leuchtdichte is also sometimes referred to as luminance.
