This pattern, also known as phyllotaxis, is crucial for maximizing sunlight exposure and efficient nutrient transport. Common leaf arrangements include alternate, where a single leaf emerges at each node; opposite, where two leaves emerge at each node on opposing sides; and whorled, where three or more leaves emerge from a single node.
