Leaskdale

Leaskdale is a small rural community in Ontario, Canada. Located northeast of Toronto, it preserves a quiet agricultural landscape and a number of heritage buildings. The community centers on a historic cluster that includes Leaskdale United Church and the Leaskdale Manse, a two-storey brick residence that served as the home of a local Presbyterian minister and his family, most notably Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables, during 1911–1926. Montgomery's time in Leaskdale is a significant part of her life and literary career, and the surrounding countryside influenced some of her later writing.

The Leaskdale Manse is designated as a National Historic Site of Canada (designation awarded in 1997) and
