L3hydroxyproline
L3hydroxyproline, also known as 3-hydroxyproline or 3-Hyp, is a non-proteinogenic amino acid. It is a derivative of proline where a hydroxyl group is attached to the third carbon atom of the pyrrolidine ring. While proline is one of the standard amino acids incorporated into proteins during translation, 3-hydroxyproline is typically found as a post-translational modification or as a component of specific peptides.
The presence of the hydroxyl group at the 3-position influences the chemical and structural properties of 3-hydroxyproline
3-hydroxyproline can be found in some microbial peptides and has been identified in certain plant proteins.
