Kärlinflammation

Kärlinflammation, also known as conjunctivitis, is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, the thin membrane that lines the inside of the eyelids and covers the white of the eye. This condition can be caused by various factors, including viral, bacterial, or allergic infections, as well as irritants such as smoke, dust, or chemicals. Symptoms of kärlinflammation may include redness, swelling, itching, discharge, and pain in the affected eye. The severity of symptoms can vary depending on the underlying cause.

Treatment for kärlinflammation depends on the cause. Viral conjunctivitis typically resolves on its own within a week to ten days. Bacterial conjunctivitis may require antibiotic eye drops or ointments. Allergic conjunctivitis can be managed with antihistamine eye drops or oral medications. Irritant conjunctivitis is usually treated by avoiding the irritant and using artificial tears to relieve discomfort.

Prevention involves maintaining good hygiene, avoiding contact with irritants, and practicing good eye care. If symptoms persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and treatment.
