Kyllburg

Kyllburg is a municipality in the district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated in the Eifel region, approximately 15 kilometers southwest of Prüm and 25 kilometers north of Trier. The Kyll river flows through the town, giving it its name.

The history of Kyllburg dates back to Roman times, with evidence of settlements in the area. A significant development was the founding of a Benedictine monastery in the 11th century, which played a crucial role in the region's religious and economic life for centuries. The monastery was dissolved during secularization in the early 19th century, and its buildings were later repurposed.
