Kuvakennojen

Kuvakennojen is a Finnish term that translates to "image sensors" in English. It refers to the electronic component within a digital camera or other imaging device that captures light and converts it into an electrical signal, which is then processed to create a digital image. These sensors are a fundamental part of digital photography and are responsible for the quality and detail of the images produced.

There are two primary types of image sensors: charge-coupled devices (CCDs) and complementary metal-oxide-semiconductors (CMOS). CCD sensors were historically dominant, known for their excellent image quality and low noise. CMOS sensors, however, have become more prevalent due to their lower power consumption, faster readout speeds, and lower manufacturing costs. Modern image sensors, regardless of type, are incredibly sophisticated, incorporating millions of tiny pixels that each measure the intensity and color of light. Advances in kuvakennojen technology continue to push the boundaries of digital imaging, leading to higher resolutions, better low-light performance, and a wider dynamic range.
