Kuulmiselund

Kuulmiselund, also known as the auditory ossicle or ossiculum auditivum, is a small bone in the human middle ear. It is a complex structure consisting of three connected bones: the malleus (hammer), the incus (anvil), and the stapes (stirrup).

The malleus is the largest of the three bones and is attached to the eardrum, transmitting vibrations from the eardrum to the incus. The incus, also known as the anvil, receives these vibrations and transmits them to the stapes. The stapes, also known as the stirrup, is the smallest bone in the human body and transmits the vibrations to the oval window, which leads to the cochlea in the inner ear.

The ear ossicles play a crucial role in the process of hearing. They amplify sound waves, allowing the brain to interpret the vibrations into meaningful sound. The ossicles are highly specialized and must be precisely articulated for the transmission of sound waves.
