Kulturálistörténeti

Kulturálistörténeti is a Hungarian term describing a cultural-historical approach within the humanities. It denotes a perspective or methodological framework that studies culture as a historical phenomenon, focusing on how beliefs, practices, symbols and social norms develop, persist and change over time.

The kulturálistörténeti lens covers a broad range of objects and practices. It investigates everyday life, material culture, media, literature, art, religion, language, education, fashion and consumption, always situating them within specific historical contexts. Key concerns include the formation of collective identities, memory and representation, and the ways power, ideology and institutions shape cultural phenomena.
