Kufizuaras

Kufizuaras is a semi-autonomous region on the eastern coast of the fictional continent of Evridia. It covers about 12,500 square kilometers and has a population of roughly 1.2 million. The regional capital is Ardentia. The name Kufizuaras is derived from a local term meaning bounded or restricted, reflecting historical border delineations.

Geography and climate: The region combines a low coastal plain with a central highland area. It experiences a temperate, maritime climate, with the Nivar and Aras rivers flowing through its interior. The coastline features natural harbors and several fjord-like inlets that influence local weather and trade.

History: Human settlement in Kufizuaras dates to the late Bronze Age. It developed as a duchy in the medieval era and joined the Federal Republic of Evridia in the 19th century. Semi-autonomous status was conferred under the Evridian constitution in 1967, and the region operates a regional assembly alongside an executive council.

Politics and government: Kufizuaras maintains authority over education, transport, and local planning, while defence and foreign affairs remain with the central government. Official languages are Kufizarian and Evridian; the currency is the Evridian Crown. The regional administration is elected and adheres to a written constitution.

Economy and infrastructure: The economy is diversified, with agriculture (olives and vineyards), fishing, light manufacturing, and tourism. Key infrastructure includes the port of Ardentia, a regional rail network, and ongoing renewable energy projects.

Culture and demographics: The region has a mixed cultural heritage, with coastal and highland traditions. Local festivals and crafts—such as tapestry and woodwork—are notable. Urban centers host universities, hospitals, and cultural institutions.
