Kudostyypiä

Kudostyypiä refers to the specific types of tissues found in living organisms. These tissues are fundamental building blocks that perform specialized functions. In multicellular organisms, cells are organized into tissues, which in turn form organs and organ systems. The study of tissues is known as histology.

There are generally four primary types of animal tissues: epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue, and nervous tissue. Epithelial tissue covers body surfaces, lines body cavities, and forms glands. In plants, the primary tissue types are dermal tissue, vascular tissue, and ground tissue. Dermal tissue forms the outer protective layer. Vascular tissue, comprising xylem and phloem, transports water, minerals, and sugars. Ground tissue fills the interior of plant organs and performs functions such as photosynthesis, storage, and support.
