Kromosoomikomplekten
Kromosoomikomplekten, meaning "chromosome set" in Estonian, refers to the complete collection of chromosomes found within a cell of a particular organism. This set is fundamental to genetics as it carries the organism's hereditary information. In diploid organisms, like humans, cells typically contain two complete sets of chromosomes, one inherited from each parent. These sets are organized into homologous pairs, where each chromosome in a pair carries genes for the same traits, although the specific versions of those genes (alleles) may differ.
The number and structure of chromosomes within a set are species-specific. For instance, humans have 23 pairs
Variations in the chromosome set, such as aneuploidy (an abnormal number of chromosomes) or structural abnormalities
