Krediittien

Krediittien is the genitive plural form of krediitti, a loan or line of credit in Finnish. The term is used in financial language to refer to more than one credit or to the total amount of credits held by an individual, household, or organization. The base word krediitti is a loanword from English credit and is used in Finnish alongside luotto, a more general word for a loan. Educational credits are not referred to as krediittejä; in Finnish, academic credits are called opintopisteet. This distinction helps clarify the scope of the term krediittien, which centers on financing and borrowing rather than education. The form is most commonly encountered in written financial reporting, contractual documents, and media coverage of lending and debt.
