Kosteuskäyrä, meaning "moisture curve" in Finnish, refers to a graphical representation of the relationship between the moisture content of a material and the relative humidity of the surrounding environment at a constant temperature. It is a fundamental concept in material science, particularly relevant in fields like construction, textiles, and food processing.

The curve typically illustrates how a material absorbs or desorbs moisture as the ambient humidity changes. At low relative humidity, a dry material will have a low moisture content. As the humidity increases, the material will absorb water vapor from the air, and its moisture content will rise. Conversely, when the humidity decreases, the material will release absorbed moisture, and its moisture content will fall.
