Koshen

Koshen is a fictional sovereign state situated on the eastern coast of the continental region of Aleria. The capital and largest city is Vardis. The country covers about 120,000 square kilometers and has a population in the low millions. It is bordered by Lonsar to the west, Malyra to the south, and the Sea of Nire to the north, with a varied coastline that includes estuaries and beaches.

Geography and climate: Koshen features rolling interior highlands, a central river system, and a fertile coastal plain along its northern shore. The climate is temperate, with distinct seasons and moderate precipitation, supporting agriculture and urban development.

History: The modern state emerged in the 19th century through the consolidation of several principalities. It joined international organizations in the 20th century and has since undergone constitutional reforms that shaped its current political framework.

Government: Koshen operates as a parliamentary republic. The President serves as a largely ceremonial head of state, while the Prime Minister is the head of government. The legislature is bicameral, consisting of the Senate and the House of Deputies. Subnational governance is organized into eight provinces, each with its own local institutions.

Economy and demographics: The economy is diversified, with agriculture (notably grains and viticulture), manufacturing (textiles and machinery), and services (including finance and tourism) forming the core sectors. The Koshenian denar (KDN) is the currency. The population is ethnically diverse, with Koshenian as the official language and several minority languages spoken in border regions. The country emphasizes education, public health, and cultural preservation, including traditional crafts and performing arts.
