Koodimodulaation

Koodimodulaation, also known as digital modulation, is a technique used in telecommunications and digital signal processing to encode digital data onto a carrier signal for transmission over a medium such as a wire, optical fiber, or wireless channel. The primary goal of digital modulation is to efficiently and accurately convey digital information over analog communication channels.

In digital modulation, the digital data is first converted into a sequence of symbols, each representing a specific combination of bits. These symbols are then mapped to specific characteristics of the carrier signal, such as amplitude, frequency, or phase. The most common types of digital modulation include:

1. Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK): The amplitude of the carrier signal is varied to represent different symbols.

3. Phase Shift Keying (PSK): The phase of the carrier signal is altered to represent different symbols.

4. Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM): Both the amplitude and phase of the carrier signal are varied to represent different symbols.

The choice of modulation technique depends on various factors, including the characteristics of the communication channel, the required data rate, and the desired level of error correction. Digital modulation is widely used in modern communication systems, including digital television, wireless networks, and satellite communications. It enables the efficient transmission of large amounts of digital data over analog channels, making it a fundamental technology in the digital age.
