Konstituentit
Konstituentit, in linguistics, refer to units of syntax that function as a single unit within the structure of a sentence. A constituent can be as small as a word or as large as a clause, and constituents nest inside larger constituents in a hierarchical tree. Common types include noun phrases (NP), verb phrases (VP), adjective phrases (AP), prepositional phrases (PP), and clauses such as main and subordinate clauses. Constituents are the building blocks of syntactic analysis and help determine both the form and interpretation of sentences.
In practice, constituents are often characterized by their ability to behave as coherent units in various operations.
