The subjunctive mood is used to express wishes, doubts, or hypothetical scenarios that are not necessarily true.

The basic structure of a conditional sentence in Hungarian is as follows: subject + verb in subjunctive mood + object. For example, "Ha jönnél, akkor segítlek" translates to "If you came, I would help you." In this sentence, "jönnél" is the subjunctive form of the verb "jön" (come), and "segítlek" is the first-person singular form of the verb "segít" (help).

Conditional sentences can also be used to express doubts or uncertainties. For example, "Nem tudom, hogy jön-e" translates to "I don't know if he/she/they will come." In this sentence, "jön-e" is the subjunctive form of the verb "jön" (come), and "nem tudom" (I don't know) expresses the speaker's uncertainty.
