Kollateralbildung
Kollateralbildung refers to the biological process of forming new blood vessels from pre-existing ones. This intricate process is crucial for tissue survival and repair, particularly in situations where blood supply is compromised. When oxygen or nutrient delivery to a tissue is insufficient, cells within that tissue release signaling molecules, collectively known as angiogenic factors. These factors stimulate the proliferation and migration of endothelial cells, the primary building blocks of blood vessels.
The formation of new vessels involves several key stages. Initially, a parent vessel may sprout a new
