Kokonaispäästö
Kokonaispäästö refers to the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced by a specific entity, such as a country, company, or individual, over a defined period, typically a year. This comprehensive measure includes all direct and indirect emissions associated with the entity's activities. Direct emissions, often referred to as Scope 1, originate from sources owned or controlled by the entity, such as fuel combustion in boilers or vehicles. Indirect emissions are further categorized into Scope 2 and Scope 3. Scope 2 emissions result from the generation of purchased electricity, heat, or steam. Scope 3 emissions are all other indirect emissions that occur in the value chain of the reporting entity, both upstream and downstream, such as emissions from the production of purchased materials, transportation of goods, business travel, and the use of sold products.
Calculating kokonaispäästö is crucial for understanding an entity's environmental impact and for setting effective climate change
