Kiusaako

Kiusaako is a volcanic island in the northern part of the Funafuti Atoll, Tuvalu. The atoll is formed by a ring of coral reefs surrounding a lagoon and features several islands, with Kiusaako being one of the smaller ones.

Located in the Pacific Ocean, east of Fiji and Kiribati, Tuvalu is one of the least populated countries in the world, with most of its residents living in the main island of Funafuti. Kiusaako, along with other islands in Funafuti Atoll, has contributed to the country's marine resources and fishing activities.

Information on the size and terrain of Kiusaako is limited, but it is known that it has low-lying areas and possible elevations of vegetation. The island is characterized as a low island, indicating a terrain that may occasionally be under water depending on sea levels and the tidal cycle.

No permanent settlements or human habitats have been recorded on the island, making it uninhabited and typically devoid of residents. As part of the Funafuti Atoll, Kiusaako has a boreal zone climate with temperatures ranging from mild at an average of around 27 degrees Celsius.

Like its counterparts in the Funafuti Atoll, the ecosystem of Kiusaako consists mainly of coral, bivalve, crustacean and other shellfish. Angiosperm vegetation may also be limited due to the island's clastic soil composition.
