Kimittä
Kimittä refers to the sound a goat makes. It is a high-pitched bleating sound often associated with goats expressing needs, distress, or communication. The specific quality and pattern of a kimittä can vary depending on the goat's age, emotional state, and the context of the sound. Younger goats, known as kids, may kimittä more frequently and with a higher pitch as they call for their mothers or express hunger. Adult goats may also kimittä in a variety of situations, such as when they are separated from their herd, feel threatened, or are seeking attention. This vocalization is a primary means of communication within goat social structures. The term "kimittä" is often used interchangeably with "bleat" in English when referring to the vocalizations of goats. While most commonly associated with goats, similar sounds can sometimes be produced by other young mammals.
