Kiertoväylät

Kiertoväylät, also known as bypasses or outer ring roads, are a type of road infrastructure designed to alleviate traffic congestion in urban and suburban areas. Their primary function is to divert through traffic away from city centers and residential zones, allowing local traffic to flow more freely. This redirection can significantly reduce travel times for both long-distance travelers and local commuters.

The construction of kiertoväylät often involves building new roads around the periphery of a populated area. These roads are typically designed to a higher standard than local roads, often featuring multiple lanes and limited access points to facilitate faster movement.
