Kiadványokban

Kiadványokban is a Hungarian grammatical phrase meaning “in publications.” It is formed by combining the noun kiadvány, which denotes a book, journal, periodical, or other printed work, with the ablative suffix –ban, indicating location or context. The plural form kiadványok is transformed into kiadványokban to refer to more than one publication.

The phrase functions as an adverbial modifier, specifying where information, data, or arguments can be found or verified. In academic writing, a researcher might state “Móricz (2021) discusses this theory kiadványokban,” implying that the discussion appears in the cited works. It is also used in press releases or bibliographic notes: “Az eredményt kiadványokban találjuk,” meaning “The result can be found in publications.”

Kiadványokban is distinct from kiadványban, the singular form, which indicates a single publication. Because Hungarian permits compound forms, the phrase may appear in both spoken and written contexts; nevertheless, it is more common in formal or scholarly contexts where precise sourcing is essential.

The term is occasionally confused with kiadvány közben (meaning “while publishing”), but kiadványokban specifically refers to the destination of information rather than the process of publishing.
