Ketanji Brown Jackson is an American attorney and jurist who currently serves as the 116th justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. She was appointed by President Joe Biden in 2022 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Justice Stephen Breyer. Prior to her appointment, Jackson served as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit from 2017 to 2022. She was the first African American woman to serve on the D.C. Circuit.
