Keskserveripõhine

Keskserveripõhine describes a system architecture where processing, data storage, and management are primarily handled by a central server or a cluster of servers. This contrasts with distributed or client-server models where tasks are spread across multiple devices or individual client machines. In a keskserveripõhine system, client devices typically have limited processing power and rely heavily on the central server for their operations.

This architecture is characterized by a single point of control and data. All user interactions and data requests are routed through the central server, which then processes them and returns the results. This centralization simplifies management, updates, and security, as all crucial components are located in one place. For example, software updates can be deployed to the server, and all clients will automatically use the new version. Data backups and recovery are also more straightforward to manage.

However, a significant drawback of a keskserveripõhine system is its reliance on the central server. If the server experiences an outage or becomes overloaded, the entire system can become inaccessible or perform poorly. This creates a potential single point of failure. Scalability can also be a challenge, as increasing the load on the system requires upgrading the central server's capacity, which can be expensive and complex. Despite these limitations, keskserveripõhine architectures are still found in various applications where centralized control and management are paramount.
