Keratinizálódnak
Keratinizálódnak is a Hungarian verb that describes the process of keratinization. This biological process refers to the maturation of epidermal cells, where they accumulate keratin, a tough, fibrous structural protein. As cells keratinize, they lose their nucleus and other organelles, becoming flattened and eventually forming the outer protective layer of the skin, known as the stratum corneum. This layer acts as a barrier against mechanical damage, pathogens, and dehydration.
Keratinization is a continuous process, with new cells being generated in the lower layers of the epidermis
Beyond the skin, keratinization also plays a role in the formation of other epidermal appendages like hair
