Kelvinin
Kelvinin is a unit of measurement for temperature in the International System of Units (SI). It is named after Lord Kelvin, the Scottish physicist and engineer who first proposed an absolute thermodynamic temperature scale. The Kelvin scale is an absolute scale, meaning it starts at absolute zero, the theoretical temperature at which all molecular motion ceases. This is equivalent to -273.15 degrees Celsius or -459.67 degrees Fahrenheit. The Kelvin scale is used primarily in scientific contexts, as it provides a more straightforward way to express temperature changes and is not affected by the freezing point of water, unlike the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales. One Kelvin is defined as the fraction 1/273.16 of the thermodynamic temperature of the triple point of water, which is the temperature at which water can exist simultaneously in gaseous, liquid, and solid states. The Kelvin scale is often used in physics, chemistry, and engineering, as it is based on fundamental physical properties and is not dependent on the properties of any particular substance.
