Keflavíkurflugvöllur, also known as Keflavik International Airport, is the largest airport in Iceland and serves as the primary international gateway for the country. Located approximately 50 kilometers (31 miles) southwest of Reykjavík, the capital city, it handles the vast majority of Iceland's international air traffic. The airport is a hub for Icelandair, the national flag carrier, and also serves many other airlines offering connections to destinations across Europe, North America, and beyond.

The history of Keflavík Airport dates back to World War II when it was built by the United States Army Air Forces. Following the war, it was leased to Iceland and has since undergone numerous expansions and modernizations. The airport consists of two main terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, which handle both international and domestic flights respectively, though international traffic is the primary focus. It is equipped with modern facilities to accommodate passengers, including shops, restaurants, and services.
