Kapcsolóként

Kapcsolóként is the instrumental case form of the Hungarian noun kapcsoló, which primarily means a switch or a connector. The form expresses the role or function of something as a switch, i.e., “as a switch” or “in the capacity of a switch.”

The instrumental suffix -ként marks role or function. In the singular it is kapcsolóként, and in the plural it is kapcsolókként. This form is common in technical, instructional, and descriptive writing to specify how an object acts within a system, circuit, or device.

While the term primarily denotes a physical electrical switch, a broader sense as a coordinating or controlling element can appear in technical or theoretical language. The form kapcsolóként thus cleanly expresses “in the role of a switch.”
